Carma aims to make positive social and environmental impact – through tree planting.
Our mission is to make every transaction create positive action. We’re not doing it alone. We’re putting the power in the hands of individuals and businesses to make it easier than ever to do good and feel great about it. We believe that doing good makes you feel good.
Plus, by partnering with the Green Task Force for all our UK tree planting, we’re helping veterans on a pathway to meaningful employment. Something that is very close to our founders’ hearts.
THE GREEN TASK FORCE:
All our UK trees are planted by veterans via The Green Task Force. This is a subsidiary of the UK Charity the PATT Foundation and was established to solve a number of prominent issues surrounding both the environment and our veterans.
A staggering 6% of serving & former serving personnel, and 17% of those that have been in a combat situation are suffering from some form of PTSD. Service leavers also suffer a lot of stress & anxiety when transitioning from the service.
It has been proven that getting veterans involved in Nature Based Therapy (NBT) has a positive effect on their mental health.
VERITREE
Our overseas trees are planted by Veritree. What makes Veritree so unique in their levels of technology that allow for complete transparency on your trees. Using ‘Blockchain Technology’ each tree is photographed, tagged and monitored. This enables for precise tracking of each tree – eliminating the issue of double counting trees.
This allows you and your business to have the most transparent information on your trees!
WHAT TREES DO WE PLANT?
In the UK:
We also do extensive research into what type of tree will be best for the area we plant in. This detailed and meticulous method allows us to maximise success and impact on the environment.
We plant a diverse range of trees such as Oak, Beech, Birch, Ash and Willow.
To maintain healthy ecosystems and avoid monoculture, we run a biodiversity survey to ensure we assess the site’s condition such as soil type, water availability and sunlight exposure. Some tree species are better adapted to certain conditions than others, so we choose trees that will thrive in each site’s specific condition.
Carma plants UK trees with The Green Task Force who helps find employment for Veterans and overcome PTSD issues using Nature Based Therapy and focussing on post traumatic growth.
Trees are our biggest weapon in combating climate change, absorbing and storing harmful carbon dioxide (CO2) from the atmosphere and releasing clean, breathable oxygen back into the air.

Overseas:
Planted by Veritree. The trees you have planted are Mangrove in Kenya. Located on the Likoni river delta, this mangrove forest helps stabilize and protect the landscape from erosion and creates valuable nurseries in a unique ecosystem.

This project focuses on planting trees in rainforests around the world, with a particular emphasis on helping local communities thrive.
By planting trees in areas that have been deforested, they are not only helping to mitigate the impact of climate change, but also creating new habitats for wildlife and improving the lives of local people.
